Lady of Style

Good weather on my birthday mid October cannot always be guaranteed in Germany but certainly in Portugal. Mr C took me out to a lovely restaurant where we had a traditional Portuguese "Cataplana", a fish stew with delicious local wine which we enjoyed sitting outside all evening.

For the occasion I wore this green Havren dress which features a wrap over with a frill all the way down from collar to skirt. I was looking for a green dress for a long time and although I love the red and black versions too, the decision for this colour was easy! Do I need to say that I absolutely love this feminine dress? It is my style and I feel most comfortable and confident in it.

Styled with black stilettos (not recommended on Portuguese cobblestone!) and a smart blazer it will be a more formal eveningwear ensemble. Worn with boots and a cosy cardigan it will be suitable for German autumn days. Look forward to these alternative stylings!

Meinen Geburtstag konnten wir in Portugal bei spätsommerlichen Temperaturen mit einem wunderschönen Abendessen auf der Terrasse eines kleinen Restaurants feiern. Mr C lud mich zu einem traditionellen Portugiesischen "Cataplana", einer Art Fisch und Meeresfrüchte Eintopf, zubereitet in einem Kupferkessel, ein.

Ich trug mein neues grünes Kleid in Wickeloptik von Havren. Ich war schon lange auf der Suche nach einem grünen Kleid und dieses feminine Rüschenkleid, das ich mir bei Havren aussuchen durfte, ist genau mein Stil, ich habe mich darin sofort und rundum gut gefühlt. Kennt Ihr dieses Gefühl bei einem Kleidungsstück? Mein Kleid ist über John Lewis erhältlich. Die neue Herbst Winter Kollektion gibt es natürlich auch direkt bei Havren.

Da es so schön warm war, konnte ich meine Lieblingsschuhe dazu tragen, aber hier zuhause werden es jetzt Stiefel und eine kuschelige Jacke werden. Alternativ für abends Stilettos (auf Portugiesischem Kopfsteinpflaster unmöglich!) und ein schwarzer Blazer. Diese Looks werde ich Euch hier demnächst vorstellen.

Styling a dress - from autumn to winter von annette-ladyofstyle

Golden October weather at its best! Temperatures here in Germany were similar to the ones I enjoyed in Portugal last week. Back at work I want to show you a typical office look taken during my lunch break. Black&Blue is a mix I like a lot, I often pair jeans with a black blazer (make sure you come back for my next post) and also wore this colour combination here.

There are dress codes for various branches and you may have to obey a certain rule in your position. I work in a military, male dominated environment and I am dealing with visitors and high ranking officers and officials on a regular basis which involves a close cooperation with our Protocol Department.

LENGTH

Like in any professional environment pay attention to the length of your skirt or dress. I have a few clothes with a length at the edge of my personal comfort zone but some of them work very well with opaque tights.

BLAZER
Usually blazers are part of my office outfits as they complete a professional look. Make sure the fabric isn't too stiff or thick. This one is form fitted yet lightweight and comfortable when I sit at my desk. Alternatively I wear classic cardigans over a top or a dress. I prefer them to jumpers as they allow me to leave them open or even take them off a lot easier.

JEWELLERY
If you wear dark or neutral colours, accessorize them with some statement jewellery. Make make sure your earrings aren't too big as the clacking noise when answering the phone is distracting (I wore these only for the photos as they match the necklace!). I also find bangles not practical at work and go for bracelets instead.

HANDBAG
A classy handbag adds a professional touch to your attire. Usually I carry my lunch or other smaller items like sunglasses, gloves or in winter even a second pair of shoes to work. If my handbag is too small, I use an extra tote bag and love my Longchamps bags for that purpose.

My friend Véronique joined me for a long weekend and on one of days we did some shopping followed by a nice dinner in one of my favourite restaurants. We took advantage of the lovely autumn weather and she volunteered to take some outfit photos - but what to wear? I tried on various things but wasn't happy at all and finally gave up and just put on jeans and a black blazer... not a bad choice as I immediately felt confident!

You know I am not a fan of too casual looks and as a style highlight I added my new soft leo scarf which Véronique gave me for my birthday. I feel it was the perfect addition to create an easy going yet appropriate attire.

If in doubt, go for your basics.

Opt for something you feel positive in and add something special or different for the occasion: A trendy scarf, big earrings, a statement necklace, glamourous heels, fake fur, an awesome bag in a bright colour...

Letztes Wochenende verbrachte meine Freundin Véronique bei mir - Shopping, zum Essen gehen, eine Flasche Rotwein, stundenlang reden und lachen ... Ihr kennt das ;-)

Das Wetter war traumhaft und sie bot an, Fotos zu machen, aber ich wußte nicht, was ich anziehen soll. Ich probierte dies und jenes an, war aber nie zufrieden, es fühlte sich alles irgendwie zu gewollt an bis ich schließlich aufgab und zu Jeans und schwarzem Blazer griff. Zum Glück, denn nun hatte ich plötzlich das Gefühl "es passt".

Im Zweifel, lieber zum gewohnten Lieblingslook greifen.

Aber wer mich kennt, weiß, dass ich kein casual Jeanstyp bin und so verlangten meine Basics nach etwas besonderem. Und mein neuer, superweicher Leoschal, den mir Véronique zum Geburtstag geschenkt hat, passte perfekt dazu!

Mein Rat: Krampfhaft nach einem besonderen Outfit zu suchen bringt gar nichts! Man fühlt sich nicht wohl und das merkt man auch. In solchen Fällen lieber zum Lieblingslook greifen und ihn dem Anlass entsprechend aufpeppen und stylen. Das können ein trendiger Schal mit animal prints oder fake fur sein, große Klunker-Ohrringe, eine Statement Kette, Glitzerheels oder eine neue IT-Bag...

Und wenn Ihr mal nach Garmisch kommt, kann ich Euch Heimo's Maronis Bar Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen!

What a fantastic day at the Tchibo Fashion Blogger Event "Blaue Piste" in Hamburg!

Tchibo is one of the biggest German brands, also represented on the international market. Originally found as a coffee company their wide range now includes non-food products from household, electronics and small furniture to clothing and sports articles on a weekly basis.

I can't imagine there is a German household without a Tchibo product - I certainly have numerous ones like my yoga pants, running gear, gardening stuff, Christmas decoration or even a glass cabinet in my living room! Their quality, variety and prices give them a brand recognition of nearly 100% in Germany.

Together with a small group of German fashion bloggers I had the unique opportunity to visit their headquarters in Hamburg, meet the designers, talk to their social media team and pay a visit to the quality control department.

NEW WINTER SPORTS COLLECTION

Winter is approaching fast and the snow collection is always one of Tchibo's highlights each year! We had the chance to see and try on the new ski collection which is available in stores and online now! The sports collection is always one of the most challenging textile product ranges since it has to meet the highest standards regarding cold and wet weather, breathability, lightweight, comfort and last but not least - it has to look fashionable and stylish!

The fun part was a make-up and hair styling session followed by a photo shooting in our winter outfits! Now I know they really keep you warm... especially in a photo studio ;-)

As soon as winter arrives, I will show you the outfit I selected in real snow!

Über Tchibo brauche ich Euch an sich nicht viel erzählen, es gibt wohl kaum jemanden, die kein Tchibo Produkt zu Hause hat, oder? Ein funktionelles Laufshirt, eine bequeme, stylische Jogginghose für's Wochenende, schöne Kerzenhalter für`s Wohnzimmer, mein Wecker auf dem Nachttisch, ein Windlicht für die Terrasse, eine Lichterkette und mein goldener Christbaumschmuck... ich könnte endlos weitermachen!

Als ich letzte Woche am Tchibo Blogger Event "Blaue Piste" teilnahm, ging es hinter die Kulissen dieses Großunternehmens. Eine Gruppe von Fashionbloggern wurde zu einem Tag im Firmenhauptsitz nach Hamburg eingeladen. Mit einem Glas Sekt und einer Riesenauswahl an Tchibo Kaffee wurden wir begrüßt und ich konnte nicht nur die anderen Bloggerinnen, die meisten im Alter meiner Tochter, dazu zwei junge Männer, sondern auch Bloggerkollegin Ari Sunshine endlich persönlich kennenlernen.

Anschließend erfuhren wir von den Designerinnen, dass alle Modeteile im Haus entworfen werden, die Zusammenarbeit mit den Lieferanten gemeinsam unter Einhaltung ethischer Standards aufgebaut wird und eine Qualitätskontrolle der einzelnen Produkte in der entsprechenden Abteilung in Hamburg stattfinden, die wir auch besichtigen durften.

Eine Informationsrunde zum Thema Social Media war für uns Blogger natürlich besonders spannend - was wird von Tchibo gemacht, wie kommt dies bei Bloggern an, was kann verbessert werden? Es war toll zu sehen, wie sich Sandra, die Chefredakteurin Corporate Communications mit ihren Kolleginnen persönlich auf den verschiedenen social media channels einsetzt. Auf dem Tchibo Blog gibt es übrigens eine regelmäßige Outfit Blogparade.

Der Nachmittag war dann ganz der neuen Wintersportkollektion Skivergnügt & Winterschick gewidmet, die ab sofort in den Läden und im online shop erhältlich ist. Die Skikollektion ist immer etwas ganz besonderes bei Tchibo, da sie von Kunden und Kundinnen besonders gefragt und für die Designerinnen eine besondere Herausforderung darstellt: Funktionalität wie Kälte- und Nässeschutz, Bequemlichkeit, Atmungsaktivität und nicht zu vergessen - die Kollektion soll schließlich auch modisch und schick aussehen! Und daran besteht kein Zweifel, oder?

Und dann kam das Fun Highlight des Tages: Ein professionelles Make up und hairstyling, dann rein in die warme Winterkleidung und ab ins Studio zum Photoshooting!

Travelling has always been part of my life, not only when I worked in the airline business for almost 15 years. That includes the most exotic places in the Far East, trips to Africa, the States or Mexico, beach holidays in the Mediterranean or city tours in Europe... by the way, I have done quite a few on my own!

The last couple of weeks have been a constant packing and unpacking of suitcases. First Portugal, followed by the Tchibo Blogger Event in Hamburg last week and right now I am in London.

How do you travel in the grey, cool and rainy month of November as a blogger who aims to be comfortable yet presentable? Think of long walks from the car to the terminal, security checks where you have to take off your coat, scarf, jacket, belt and boots and finally fully booked flights in Economy Class!

My Travel Look

Trenchcoat

It is leight weight, trendy, practical and in a neutral colour which can easily be combined with almost every outfit.

Cross Body Bag

This bag keeps your hands free when you shop at the duty free or wait at passport control. It is also safer wearing a handbag in front of your body. If you are travelling on a low cost carrier with strict "1 carry-on only", a small handbag can be squeezed into a tote.

Big Scarf

I always wear or take a big scarf or pashmina shawl with me to keep me warm especially with aircondition on board.

Shoes

Because of the season and bad weather, I wore boots with low heels. Usually I take an extra pair of ballerinas with me.

Trousers

Preferably stretch trousers for convenience. Black is always a good and versatile option.

I never wear jeans for travelling! An old airliner inside rule said you won't have a chance for an upgrade wearing jeans... well, in black trousers I wasn't successful either ;-)

Neutral colours

Baggage weight restrictions limit what you can take with you. As I always struggle with packing light, I try to stick to neutral colours which are easier to combine for different outfits while en route. Style them with more colourful accessories or jewellery.

Long-haul flights naturally require an even more careful planning and packing, especially when you visit different climates.

Reisen hat schon immer zu meinem Leben gehört, nicht nur da ich fast 15 Jahre bei einer internationalen Fluggesellschaft gearbeitet habe und sehr viel gereist bin. Rund um die Welt in unzählige exotische Länder Asiens, mehrere Reisen in die USA, Afrika und Mexico, Urlaub am Mittelmeer und zahlreiche europäische Städtetrips gehören dazu.

In den letzten Wochen bin ich nur am Koffer ein- und auspacken, erst Portugal, danach zum Tchibo Blogger Event nach Hamburg und zur Zeit bin ich in London.

Was trägt man auf Flügen im grauen, nasskalten November, wenn es praktisch sein und doch schick aussehen soll? Touristenlook mit Rucksack und Turnschuhen kommt für mich nicht in Frage...

Lange Wege vom Auto zum Terminal, aufwändige Sicherheitskontrollen, bei denen man gerade im Winter vom Mantel, Schal, Jacke, Gürtel bis zu den Stiefeln alles ausziehen und danach wieder anziehen muss und schließlich enge, volle Flüge in Economy!

Mein Reiseoutfit

Trenchcoat

Relativ leicht, praktisch und ein Klassiker, dennoch immer trendy. Die neutrale Farbe ist einfach perfekt kombinierbar.

Cross Body Bag

Ideal um die Hände an der Passkontrolle oder beim Duty Free shopping frei zu haben. Außerdem ist es sicherer, die Tasche im Gedränge vorne zu tragen. Ich nehme immer eine Reisetasche mit, am besten faltbar und man kann ggf. eine kleine Umhängetasche reinstecken - wichtig bei Billigfluglinien wie z.B. easyJet oder Ryanair, die eine sehr strikte Handgepäckregelung haben.

Schal

Ich habe immer ein großes Tuch oder auch einen Pashminaschal dabei, die in der Maschine oder bei zu kalter Klimaanlage sehr angenehm sind.

Schuhe

Aufgrund des Wetters hatte ich mich für flache Stiefel entschieden. Normalerweise habe ich immer ein paar leichte Ballerinas zum Wechseln dabei.

Hose

Am liebsten mit Stretchanteil, Schwarz ist meist meine erste Wahl, sieht schick aus und passt immer.

Ich trage beim Fliegen nie Jeans! Alte Airliner-Regel: Wenn Du Dir die Chance auf ein Upgrade nicht völlig verbauen möchtest, trage keine Jeans!
...ich habe allerdings in den letzten Jahren trotzdem nie ein upgrade bekommen ;-)

Neutrale Farben

Langweilig oder nicht, jedenfalls kann ich diese Töne bestens untereinander kombinieren, denn ich schaffe es sowieso immer wieder, an die maximale Gepäckgrenze zu stoßen! Daher lieber mit farbigen oder gemusterten Accessoires stylen.

Auf Langstreckenflügen gilt es natürlich noch viel mehr zu beachten, vor allem wenn man in ein anderes Klima reist.

London is my favourite city, I have been there often and spent quite some time in England in the past. This special connection with the city, the country and its people I have obviously passed on to my daughter Alena who is now studying at London College of Fashion.

While I was visiting her these days, I had the pleasure meeting the gorgeous Beata of Fashion Adventures At Any Age. I love Beata's elegant and sophisticted style and meeting this wonderful and warmhearted woman has been such a pleasure!

Of course we also took the opportunity for some photos when we met up with our daughters at Café PAUL near Covent Garden in the heart of London.

What's your favourite city?

London ist meine Lieblingsstadt, ich war sehr häufig dort und habe insgesamt eine ziemlich lange Zeit in England verbracht. Es ist eine besondere Verbindung mit dem Land, der Kultur und den Menschen und ich habe viele Freunde in England.

Diese Liebe habe ich ganz offensichtlich meiner Tochter weitergegeben, denn Alena studiert jetzt am London College of Fashion. Als ich sie dieser Tage besucht habe, hatte ich auch Gelegenheit, Bloggerin Beata von Fashion Adventures At Any Age endlich persönlich kennenzulernen! Zusammen mit unseren Töchtern haben wir uns im netten Café PAUL in der Nähe von Covent Garden im Herzen Londons getroffen. Es war ein ganz besonderes Erlebnis, diese wunderbare und unglaublich warmherzige Frau endlich persönlich kennenzulernen, nachdem ich ihren Blog schon lange lese.

Und natürlich gibt es kein Bloggertreffen ohne ein gemeinsames Photoshooting!

MORE BURGUNDY TOPS

Unless you are living in Southern California, this season is a real challenge when it comes to outfit photos... too dark after work, no sunshine at all but grey and foggy all day, very low temperatures - it's November! I was freezing cold when we did this shooting and my scarf and sweater didn't help much either.

Talking of sweaters, this is a very light oversized one which works well with pencil skirts and skinny trousers. Unfortunately the metallic fabric and colour didn't come out well on these photos (see para 1...)
Burgundy remains my favourite colour this season and when my blogger friend Beata of Fashion Adventures At Any Age gave me this gorgeous L.Credi handbag when we met in London last week I was speechless! I love the colour and size (I always carry a lot of stuff with me!) and it is the perfect addition to my handbag collection! Thank you so much, Beata :-)

Wer nicht gerade in Südkalifornien lebt, hat es als Blogger in dieser Jahreszeit wirklich nicht leicht, Außenaufnahmen zu machen! Wenn ich vom Büro komme, ist es dunkel, die Landschaft ist sowie grau in grau und die Temperaturen lassen mein Lächeln auf den Lippen gefrieren... dazu blies ein eiskalter Wind und es mußte sehr schnell gehen - danke, Jasi :-)

Mein neuer Mango oversized Pulli, der am besten zu engen Röcken und Hosen passt, ist zwar nichts für diese Außentemperaturen, aber im Büro ideal, da er so schön leicht ist. Leider kommen die Farbe und der schicke Metalliceffekt nicht gut rüber (...Lichtbedingungen s.o.!)

Dafür umso mehr meine bordeauxfarbene Lacktasche, die ein Geschenk von Beata von Fashion Adventures At Any Age ist. Ich war echt sprachlos, als sie sie mir letzte Woche während unseres Treffens in London geschenkt hat! Ganz herzlichen Dank, Beata :-) Die Farbe ist sowieso mein derzeitiger Favorit und der Stil und die Größe passen einfach perfekt!

It's the time of the year to put on some glamour! Regular readers know that my favourite garment is a dress. For me nothing beats a Little Black Dress for going out!

Jetzt ist die Zeit für Glamour! Ihr wisst, wie sehr ich Kleider liebe und für einen besonderen Anlass geht für mich nichts über ein Kleines Schwarzes. Auch für die diesjährige Weihnachtsfeier hatte ich natürlich schon überlegt, was ich anziehen werde, wobei es bei uns sogar mehrere gibt, darunter eine eine sehr große Party und ein festliches Dinner.

Könnt Ihr Euch für jede Woche neue Kleidung leisten? Wie wohl die meisten unter uns, kann ich das leider nicht... daher finde ich es wichtig, zu zeigen, wie man vorhandene Kleidung umstylen, in der nächsten Saison tragen, mit neuen Farben mixen oder mit trendigen Accessoires verändern und aufpeppen kann.

Diese olivefarbene Hose in Lederoptik habe ich bereits hier mit einer leichten oversized Bluse vorgestellt, nun habe ich sie jahreszeitlich passend mit meinem Dauereinsatz-Layering Top {hier gezeigt} von adea und einem perlenbesetzten Cardigan von Wallis {hier getragen} kombiniert. Something old... something new...

Le Beaujolais Nouveau 2013 est arrivé - New wine andI wore this outfit to the annual Beaujolais Nouveau wine party graciously hosted by my French colleagues.

My black boots are newand exactly what I was looking for: simple yet elegant to be worn with dresses. A comfortable mid heel and neither too pointed nor too round. I am really happy whith them and you will see them a lot on the blog this winter!

My hairstyle is new, I got fresh colour and for the first time highlights plus I had my hair straightened.

Opposed to that, my woolen cape is really old, I'd even call it vintage as I bought it in a small boutique in the 90ies during a vacation in Italy. Luckily I kept it and now seem to have a trend piece in a trend colour!

Alt und neu...

Le Beaujolais Nouveau 2013 est arrivé - zu dieser jährlichen Party, die den neuen Wein willkommen heißt und zu der meine Französischen Kollegen immer stilvoll einladen, habe ich den heutigen Look getragen.

Neu sind auch meine schwarzen Stiefelund ich bin absolut begeistert von Ihnen, denn sie sind genau, was ich gesucht hatte! Schlicht und elegant, da ich sie hauptsächlich mit Kleidern und Röcken tragen möchte. Außerdem hat der Absatz eine ideale Höhe und die Stiefel sind vorne weder zu spitz, noch zu rund. Ich bin sicher, das werden diesen Winter meine Lieblingsschuhe!

Und zu guter Letzt: Neu sind auch meine Haare - frische Farbe und erstmals Highlights, außerdem ganz glatt geföhnt.

Im Gegensatz dazu ist mein Cape uralt. Ich habe es irgendwann in den 90ern während eines Urlaubs in einer kleinen Boutique in Italien gekauft. Praktisch, dass sowohl Capes als auch die Farbe Bordeaux aktuell im Trend sind!

Summer to winter

Taking a summer dress into the cold season? It works perfectly well for me!

I wore this gorgeous frill dress (c/o Havren) with peep toes in Portugal when it was mild and sunny. Let it snow...

It's too early... too early for snow... I am a summer person and knowing that winter here in the Alpine region seems to last forever doesn't make it better! But I have to face it, tomorrow is the first of advent, it will only be 3 weeks until Christmas and I better get my down coats out!

This is my favourite winter coat from ZARA and I love its soft and cosy fur collar. I paired it with an all black look consisting of an oversized sweater, skinny trousers and my new boots (I have already mentionedhere they will make a regular appearance this winter!)

This weekend I am looking forward to my first mug of traditional hot Glühwein (mulled wine) and roasted sweet chestnuts at our popular Christkindlmarket. Here in Bavaria we don't have a Santa Claus but the Christkind that brings presents for children, hence the name Christkindlmarket!

Schneeflöckchen...

Es ist zu früh... zu früh für Schnee und Kälte, denn ich weiß, wie lange der Winter hier bei uns im Voralpenland dauern kann (und wünschte, der Sommer wäre mindestens genauso lang!). Aber morgen ist der 1. Advent, bis Weihnachten ist es nicht mehr weit und ich habe meine warmen Daunenmäntel, darunter diesen kuscheligen ZARA Steppmantel mit superweichem Pelzkragen aus dem Keller geholt.

Dazu trage ich heute Schwarz - oversized Pulli, Skinnies und meine neuen schwarzen Stiefel - ich hatte ja schon hier angedeutet, dass sie diesen Winter zum Dauereinsatz kommen werden!

Morgen lasse ich mir den ersten Glühwein und geröstete Maroni auf unserem traditionellen Christkindlmarkt schmecken! Ihr sicher auch, oder?

Leather trousers styled à la Lady

Soon after I bought my first pair of faux leather trousers in olive, I was thinking of another pair in black. As you know I am not a rock-chic type and therefore styled them in a more feminine way with a ruffled shirt, soft colours and golden jewellery.

You can easily soften a leather look: Pair it with a lace top, a silk blouse or an embroidered shirt. For a party look I'd go for a sequined or a sheer top plus heels. The style mix makes all the difference!

These days we have very cold and sunny weather with clear nights and temperatures as low as -14C in the mornings. It looks beautiful! You might have noticed the low hill in the background of one of the photos. That's where I learned skiing at the age of 5 years. It is still very popular by young children sledging down and I am sure they are having as much fun as I had! More winter photos on Instagram!

Leder ladylike

Ich liebe meine olivefarbene Kunstlederhose und wollte unbedingt noch eine schwarze.

Nun bin ich ja nicht der Typ 'Rockerbraut' und habe sie daher feminin mit einem Volantshirt, sanften Farben und Goldschmuck gestylt.

Ich liebe den Stilmix ganz ganz besonders. Ein dezentes Spitzenshirt, eine feine Seidenbluse oder ein besticktes Top dazu entsprechen meinem Stil. Für eine Party würde ich ein Pailettentop oder etwas halbtransparentes dazu tragen - und natürlich High Heels!

Wir haben zur Zeit sehr kaltes, sonniges Postkarten-Winterwetter mit klaren Nächten und Morgentemperaturen von eisigen -14C. Im Hintergrund ist ein kleiner Hügel zu sehen, auf dem ich im Alter von 5 Jahren Skifahren gelernt habe. Er ist auch heute noch als Schlittenhang bei kleinen Kindern äußerst beliebt! We had picture-perfect weather in the mountains almost every day! As it is getting dark very early we take our photos during my lunch break or on weekends. The reflection of sun and snow is really bright at noon time, I can hardly keep my eyes open! Hence my favourite RayBan Wayfarers make an appearance again, I got them from New York more than 30 years ago!

I am still in love with Burgundy this season and you have seen me wearing a monochrome look here and my bag made an earlier appearance in this post. Today I paired my burgundy trousers with brown suede over-the-knee boots and a very comfortable and warm blazer in a neutral colour.

Bilderbuch Winterwetter, allerdings ist für die nächsten Tage mehr Schnee vorhergesagt... fragt mich bitte nicht, ob ich den brauche... nein! Ihr kennt das Problem, um diese Jagreszeit draußen Fotos zu machen und so nutzen wir momentan Mittagspausen und das Wochenende dafür. Allerdings blendet die Sonne zusammen mit Schnee derart, dass ich meine Augen kaum geöffnet halten kann! Daher habe ich immer meine alte Original RayBan Wayfarer dabei, die ich vor etwa 30 Jahren aus New York mitgebracht bekommen habe! Unglaublich, aber wahr!

Bordeaux ist derzeit immer noch eine meiner Lieblingsfarben und ich habe sie im Herbst hier als Komplettlook und meine Tasche und ein Wollcape in dieser tollen Farbe erst kürzlich auf diesem Post getragen. Heute habe ich meine bordeauxfarbene Hose mit einem superbequemen, warmen Blazer in neutralem beige und braunen Wildleder Overknee Stiefeln kombiniert.

Snake Prints

Hope you don't get bored by the same snow scenery over the past couple of posts...

Some of you asked whether I am not cold wearing a blazer only - for you, my dear readers I don't mind ;-) But I assume you don't prefer seeing me in my 7:30 morning-snow-shovelling-all-wrapped-up-look which might be warm but not too inspirational!!

I paired my green snake-print jacket with a basic black look and wore this to the office and an informal luncheon. The jacket belonged to my friend and when she asked me whether I could sell it on ebay for her I instantly said "no" but kept it for myself. Wise decision? I do think so. I love monochrome looks but find it interesting to add some prints and patterns - a blazer or a scarf can make all the difference.

However, to stay warm I put on my black fur coat, a lovely surprise present by Mr C. He really knows my style!

Even though I won't be on my official Christmas leave for another 2 weeks, it is already getting quieter at work. I am very happy that my daughter already finished her term and returned from London yesterday and my son will join us in the near future. It feels so good to have them at home!

Schlangenleder

Nochmal ein post bei Schnee und Sonnenschein, hoffentlich langweile ich Euch nicht!

Einige von Euch haben mich gefragt, ob ich nicht friere... was tut man nicht alles als Blogger ;-) Mein frühmorgendliches Schneeschaufel-Outfit mit Mütze, dicken Fäustlingen und Wollschal bis zur Nasenspitze ist zwar warm, aber weniger präsentabel und inspirierend...

Für meinen heutigen Bürolook incl. Einladung zu einem informellen Mittagessen habe ich schwarze Basics mit meiner grünen Schlangenlederjacke und Stiefeln kombiniert. Diese Jacke gehörte meiner Freundin und ich sollte sie auf ebay verkaufen. Hatte ich abgelehnt und selbst behalten - eine gute Entscheidung, oder?

Und damit ich eben doch nicht friere, kam mein schwarzer Mantel mit Pelzbesatz dazu, den mir Mr C als Überraschung geschenkt hat - selbst ausgesucht, er kennt meinen Stil genau :-)

Ich muss zwar noch zwei Wochen arbeiten, aber im Büro ist es schon deutlich ruhiger geworden. Gestern kam meine Tochter von der Uni aus London zurück und mein Sohn kommt in knapp 2 Wochen nach Hause! Ich bin zwar kein großer Weihnachtsfan, aber die beiden wieder bei mir zu haben, ist einfach wunderschön.

Not my daughter's fur

Sharing my passion for fashion and style with like-minded people is great and I don't only do that with my readers but also with my daughter! We go as far as raiding each others wardrobe... Different generations but a similar style where accessories like jewellery, bags, scarves but also blazers, blouses and shirts are often worn by both of us. Too bad we don't have the same shoe size :-(

I thought her furry coat would be a bit of a fun addition to my draped dress today. The floral prints are a small hint on how much I miss spring and summer... Also Mr C's latest present makes an appearance on the blog for the first time today: I love my new set of jewellery!

Working full time + blogging = not much time left for anything else

After the formal office Christmas dinner last week, our big party will take place on Friday. One more week and then I will use the Christmas break to recharge my cells and do some adjustments and implementation of new features on the blog. You know what I am talking about: Shootings while weather and light are "ok" in the best case, sorting photos ("OMG, look at my huge bum on that photo!"), social media updates (Google+ is my latest addition), monitoring stats (any power users out there who know how to read Google Analytics?), answering emails, collaborating with brands and PR agencies, checking out my favourite blogs ...

Especially the last point is most important as I love the exchange with my readers worldwide. It is the greatest reward for blogging!

Geschmückt mit fremden Federn

Mit meiner Tochter teile ich meine Leidenschaft für Mode und Stil und das geht soweit, dass wir vieles gemeinsam tragen und zwar Accessoires wie Schmuck, Schals oder Taschen, aber auch Blusen, Shirts und Blazer wandern hin und her. Wir haben trotz des Altersunterschiedes einen sehr ähnlichen Geschmack - nur leider nicht die gleiche Schuhgröße!

TIPP: Adrienne von The Rich Life (on a budget) stellt auf ihrem Blog in der Rubrik "One Trend, Two Generations" auch immer wieder vor, wie sie und ihre Stieftochter einen Trend umsetzen. Schaut doch mal vorbei!

Dieses Mal habe ich mir ihre schwarze Webpelzjacke ausgeliehen, sie gibt meinem Stretchkleid doch gleich einen ganz anderen Look, oder? Die Frühlingsblumen sind ein ganz kleiner Hinweis darauf, wie sehr mir Frühling und Sommer fehlen...

Dazu trage ich meine neue Kette mit passenden Ohrringen, ein wunderschönes Geschenk von Mr C.

Vollzeitjob + Bloggen = keine Zeit für irgendetwas...;-)

Blogger wissen, dass es mit ein paar Fotos nicht getan ist, sondern sehr viel Arbeit dahintersteckt. Fotos in der Mittagspause, da es sonst zu dunkel ist, sie aussortieren und alle löschen, auf denen mein Hintern zu dick ist *g*, alle relevanten sozialen Netzwerke abdecken (dazu gehört bei mir neuerdings auch Google+), emails beantworten, mit Firmen und Agenturen zusammenarbeiten, lernen Google Analytics richtig zu lesen (ist hier jemand Experte?) Ich liebe das alles, ich brauche nur ein paar Stunden mehr Zeit am Tag ;-) Die Weihnachtspause werde ich nicht nur verwenden, um auszuspannen, sondern auch, um neue Ideen und Pläne für den Blog ab Januar umzusetzen.

Aber die weltweiten Kontakten mit tollen, interessanten und gleichgesinnten Frauen sind das beste am Bloggen, da gebt Ihr mir doch sicher Recht, oder?

Golden December

My sparkling paisley scarf and golden jewellery are competing with the sunlight! Almost a "Golden October" feeling although we have snow and are counting the days until Christmas.

The basics of my outfit are neutral tones but I thought my old suede leather jacket and black trousers needed some highlights and I paired them with a printed scarf in black and gold. I love this jacket so much my daughter already started complaining I am wearing it far too often but I am glad she didn't mind I borrowed her scarf :-)

Thank you for your lovely feedback on "A blogger's life" in my last post. It is reassuring to see we are all in the same boat... maintaining and constantly improving a blog is very time consuming - but worth every minute!

P.S. I am very honoured my recent leather looks in olive and black have been featured on Fabulous after 40 this week!

Goldener Dezember

Mein glänzender Paisleyschal und der goldene Schmuck sind heute mit der Sonne im Wettstreit! Fast ein "Goldener Oktober" Moment (na ja, temperaturmäßig nur um die Mittagszeit) im Dezember, kurz vor Weihnachten, wäre da nicht der Schnee...

Die Basics habe ich ganz neutral in beige und schwarz gehalten, aber mir war nach einem besonderen Accessoire zu meiner alten Wildlederjacke und ich habe diesen schwarz-goldenen Schal dazu gewählt. Meine Tochter beschwert sich schon, dass ich die Jacke immer wieder aus dem Schrank hole, aber ich liebe sie einfach! Und sie hatte nichts dagegen, dass ich mir ihren Schal ausgeliehen habe :-)

Vielen Dank für Eure Kommentare zu meinem letzten Post, in dem ich über meinen chronischen Zeitmangel und die Balance zwischen Vollzeitjob und bloggen gejammert habe... es geht Euch allen so und wir sind uns alle einig, dass Bloggen dennoch unheimlich bereichernd und jede Minute wert ist!

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

I gave this crochet dress a drastic makeover from summer & sandals to winter & fur! You know I love wearing my dresses even in winter and the right layers make it work: A velvet coat, leather boots and winter accessories like my cheetah fur hat, scarf and leather gloves!

A hat obviously is an essential piece in winter but I am not a fan of woolen beanies... unless they are as stylish as this knitted hat worn by Sara of LifeStyle over 40! I rather go for something classic that matches my style and love these furry cossack hats.

While the weather in other parts of Germany has been overcast and foggy, we had an ongoing sunny weather period with blue skies and clear and cold nights here in the mountains. The sunshine is so bright that I gave up having photos taken without sunnies. My classic Ray Ban Wayfarers are my daily winter accessory in December :-)

LIEBESGRÜSSE AUS MOSKAU

Ich habe mein cremefarbenes Spitzenkleid drastisch von Sommer & Sandalenauf Winter & Pelz umgestylt! Auch im Winter mag ich meine Kleider nicht im Schrank lassen, sondern lieber im klassischen Layerlook wintertauglich machen: Mit Samtmantel, Lederstiefeln und winterlichen Accessoires wie Pelzkappe und Schal ist das kein Problem!

Eine Kopfbedeckung ist ja oft unerlässlich im Winter, aber ich kann mit Beanies nicht viel anfangen, außer sie sind so stylish wie hier von Sara von LifeStyle over 40 getragen! Ich finde, zu meinem Stil passen Mützen und Kappen wie diese im Kosakenstil besser.
Schon während ich das schreibe, muss ich lachen, da ich unweigerlich an Loriot's Kosakenzipfel mit Zitronencremebällchen denken muss ... ich liebe Loriot und biege mich jedes Mal wieder vor Lachen!

In vielen Gegenden Deutschlands ist es dieser Tage ja ziemlich grau und neblig, aber hier am Alpenrand haben wir schon seit längerer Zeit täglich blauen Himmel und Sonne - typisch bayerisch :-) Die Sonne blendet allerdings mittags, wenn wir unsere Fotos machen, so stark, dass ich aufgegeben habe, ohne Sonnenbrille fotografiert zu werden. So ist meine klassische Ray Ban Wayfarer derzeit im Dauereinsatz und mein wichtigstes Winteraccessoire geworden :-)

Sparkle, sparkle...

Christmas is almost here, I finally bought my tree and was looking for some fresh flowers, festive decoration and candles in my favourite flowershop in town. Here in Germany we celebrate on Christmas Eve and only then we put up, decorate and light our trees.

For pre-Christmas drinks with friends I wore Burgundy and Black and added some sparkle to my outfit. There could not have been a better time for this gorgeous necklace which I won on a recent giveaway by the lovely Ani of Fleurani. It goes perfectly well with all shades of Burgundy and Plum which I love this season! I am already thinking of new styling ideas like dressing up jeans and a white blouse. Thank you so much, dear Ani!

Glitzer, glitzer...

Weihnachten steht vor der Tür und ich habe es doch tatsächlich geschafft, endlich meinen Christbaum zu besorgen. Mangels Auswahl (tja, am 21. Dezember...) wurde aus dem kleinen schmalen Wunschbaum letztlich ein kleiner dicker ;-) Dann noch schnell in meinem Lieblingsblumenladen im Ort ein paar Kerzen, glitzernde Deko und frische Blumen besorgt und Weihnachten kann kommen!

Mein Outfit in Schwarz und Bordeaux trug ich zu Drinks bei Freunden und ein bisschen Glitzer darf um diese Zeit ja nicht fehlen. Da flatterte mir doch vor ein paar Tagen eine liebe email ins Postfach, in der stand "Du hast gewonnen!" und zwar diese wunderschöne Statement Kette von Ani von Fleurani. Und sie passt perfekt dazu, oder? Ich habe mich riesig gefreut, liebe Ani, herzlichen Dank!

FUR & LEATHER

I can't deny I am in love with fur this winter! I showed you how I styled my daughter's fur coat with a floral dress here, my fur hat here and now - finally - I got my very own fake fur coat! I wasn't actually looking for one but knowing that my daughter will go back to university early January there will be no more chance for borrowing hers. It was a no-brainer when I saw this one on sale for less than 30€! A very classic almost ladylike style but I gave it a twist with my black faux leather trousers.

Just recently I won a fabulous necklace from lovely Ani of Fleurani which I showed you in my Christmas post. Can you believe how lucky I am? Besides my snakeprint clutch I am proudly wearing my new golden Swarovski bracelet, another recent giveaway by my dear blogger friend Katja of collected by Katja, based in Vienna, Austria. I couldn't believe I had been the lucky winner on two blogs! I follow Katja's amazing blog for quite a while. She is not only a beautiful woman with an amazing sense of style but also very kind and supportive. Thank you so much, dear Katja!

PELZ & LEDER

Ich glaube, Ihr habt schon mitbekommen, dass ich zur Zeit total auf Pelz stehe! Erst die von meiner Tochter ausgeliehene Pelzjacke, die ich hier wintertauglich mit einem Kleid getragen habe, danach meine Pelzkappe und nun habe ich - endlich - meine eigene Jacke! Ich hatte gar nicht explizit danach gesucht, auch wenn ich wußte, dass meine Tochter sie nach den Semesterferien wieder mit nach London nehmen würde, aber für weniger als 30€ im Sale konnte ich nicht "nein" sagen, oder?

Erst kürzlich habe ich eine wunderschöne Statement Kette bei Ani von Fleurani gewonnen, die ich Euch auf meinem Weihnachts Post vorgestellt habe. Ich bin wirklich ein doppelter Glückspilz, denn neben meiner Clutch mit Schlangenprints trage ich heute mein goldenes Swarovski Armband, das ich bei einem Giveaway meiner Bloggerfreundin Katja von collected by Katja aus Wien gewonnen habe!
